For now, you need to know how to get new skills, either by buying books or crafting your own. The wide range of skill combinations makes for a huge number of build types (which we'll be covering more in-depth soon in our character creation guide).
In addition to racial, weapon, and Source skills, the 10 main skill types are broken down into the Aerothurge, Geomancer, Huntsman, Hydrosophist, Necrommancer, Polymorph, Pyrokinetic, Scoundrel, Summoning, and Warfare categories.
